What it remembers
The cookie, portfolio_cookie_preferences, stores a format version and your selected cookie varieties. A valid saved choice also tells the site you already answered. It contains no name, contact information or personal identifier. The cookie names are just playful preferences, not technical consent categories.
How long it lasts
It expires 180 days after you save a choice. Saving again restarts that period. It is scoped to this site's hostname and pages, not other sites, and uses a secure connection on HTTPS.
Change or delete it
Use the Cookie Jar in the footer to change your choices. Saving an empty selection still remembers that you answered. To delete the preference entirely, use your browser's cookie or site-data controls. Deleting it, expiry or a future incompatible preference format can bring the prompt back.
Rigby and the Cookie Jar
Rigby is optional and off until you choose to play. The browser's local storage entry rigby.enabled.v1 remembers whether you turned him on or off on this device. You can change this in the Cookie Jar or Rigby's controls. It stays until you clear this site's data or change your choice. If storage is unavailable, your choice lasts for the current page visit. This setting does not change analytics consent.
The separate local storage entry rigby.cookie-jar.v1 remembers the identifiers of cookies you collected in the optional game. It contains no name or contact details. Progress persists on this device until you clear it. Use “Clear cookies and restart” inside the Cookie Jar to empty the game jar without changing your Rigby choice, favorite flavors or analytics settings. If saving is blocked, progress is kept only for the current page visit.
After you explore the page, Rigby may introduce himself once. The local storage entry rigby.greeting.seen.v1 remembers that introduction on this device so it does not repeat automatically. Turning Rigby off prevents the automatic greeting. The introduction does not start the hunt until you choose to play. Clear this site's data to remove this marker.
